Scripture: Romans 10:9-13
What are we saved to rather than saved from?
- Past: We have been saved to have freedom from past hurts, trauma, habits or behaviours that caused harm to ourselves, relationship with others and God.
- Present: We have been saved to turn our rejection and rebellion of God towards God, confess Jesus Christ as Lord, and join the family of God which fills us with purpose and meaning.
- Future: We have been saved to love one another and live at peace with our neighbour, i.e peacemaking as well as share the hope that sin and death are finally abolished, and Creation will be redeemed when God restores the new heaven and the new earth.
